I hope this letter finds you well and enjoying summer. I apologize that I did not get a chance to send this sooner but we’ve been a bit busy recently. My husband Denis and I, along with our daughter Aisling and son Harrison, are thrilled to announce the birth of our third child, Dylan Tevita Malone, born Tuesday, May 8th, at 2:44am, weighing 7 pounds 14 ounces and measuring 20 inches.
He is such a bundle of delicious joy that we are all savoring and he is thriving and growing by leaps and bounds. Enclosed is a birth announcement with his picture.
I must extend a million thanks to you and your staff for accommodating me on such a short notice and for making my acupuncture experience so positive. As you may recall, I was a few days overdue when I came to Holmdel Acupuncture seeking your help. I was both mentally and physically exhausted and also very frustrated by my body’s many unsuccessful attempts to labor in the preceding days. I truly believe that the sessions of acupuncture I had with you on Friday May 4th and Monday May 7th were extremely effective as they allowed me to relax in your office and also increased my qi so that my body could finally let nature take its course. I then went to hospital and gave birth safely within 15 minutes of my arrival. It was the birth experience I had wished for. My immediate postpartum recovery was also very speedy so Dylan and I were able to come home the next day to spend time bonding and celebrating his arrival with our family. Even now I feel that I am continuing to reap the benefits of acupuncture as my body and mind are faring well each day with this wonderful and significant adjustment.

Naturally, this is a devastating thing to hear when you desperately want children. I understood what the doctor had told me, but I didn’t wholeheartedly believe it and wanted to take a gentler approach. I felt that when my body was well enough, I would get pregnant. Liping reaffirmed my decision and I kept up with the acupuncture to balance the energy in my body, took Chinese herbs as prescribed by Liping and had Reiki treatments from another skilled practitioner. Just two months after being told I needed the fertility drugs if I ever wanted to have a baby, I came in for my acupuncture session as usual. While Liping was checking my pulse I said that I wanted to ask her a question. She looked at me and said “Are you going to ask if I think you could be pregnant now?” ” Yes, I think so”. I was shocked because I had just taken the pregnancy test that morning and I thought it was so incredible that she could tell immediately from my pulse. That was the first moment when it sunk in and I realized that I was actually pregnant! I continued acupuncture all through the pregnancy and had no morning sickness, swollen ankles or any other complications. It was a beautiful pregnancy that ended in the birth of our daughter, Michaela Rose on December 8, 2007.
